The Serbian sheepdog is one of the world's oldest species of dog. The Serbian belongs to sheepdog category descending from the moles group. Today the breed is a creation of natural selection in a centuries enclosed region without out contact with other, different breeds of dogs. Harsh surroundings have made this dog strong, tough and fearless. The Serbian sheepdog is an excellent guard dog, a dog that will without hesitation take on a pack of wolves or a bear.

The Serbian sheepdog is a dog that will fulfil duties without fault looking after master and estate.

A high level of intelligence makes this breed independent. This is a very balanced and docile breed whilst being good natured. Extremely brave this breed will defend at all cost when the need presents itself. Always on the alert to protect his master. The dog is born with an instinct to guard. 

One of the Serbian sheepdog’s best traits is that the dog never barks without reason, there is no need to train this dog, guarding life and property comes pack and parcel, natural to the breed.

Loyal to the master, not trusting of strangers, when accepting a stranger this dog will follow the strangers every move. As mentioned this breed is extremely intelligent a dog that thinks with its own head. A dog that will herd his master out of danger if he so believes that such a situation is present.          

The Serbian sheepdog is a lovable breed once you have one, two or even three it is difficult to change to any other breed of dog.                              

My best friend - he's name is Miloyko

This is my best fiend Miloyko - a true hedonist,  damn cat gets away with murder...

Miloyko was once called Miloyka as everyone thought he was a she... She ... hmm hmm... He  is a  7 month old kitten, recycled ... hmm hmm ... found lost and unfortunatly  reclaimed by us. He is a black kitten with traces of white and grey tufts on his chest, which  should mean that he is not an "evil" kitten induldged in the black arts.  Got my own thinking on that one!

I plan to make him pay for those little luxuries  he gets from the family bcoz of his stubborn meowwing, all he does is pressure my family with his  meow, meow, meow until he gets what he wants,  so stay tuned -  gonna be far more  interesting and exciting then Animal planet. MAKE MY DAY PUNK!!!

My introduction to the world

Hi everybody, my name is Militsa; I am seven months old and I enjoy discovering new things every day.

Hmmm, really difficult to describe myself, so I will let my human friend type in the bits.

I am a Serbian sheep dog, independent minded, very reliable, incorruptible and extremely protective towards my friends and owner, just so you all know. I am not snappy, even though I will take on a wolf or two or may be a bearJ. They say I am highly intelligent (to the annoyance of my owner). I am great with outsiders, although suspicious, until a threat to the flock (which by the way we don’t have) presents itself. Well we do have a yew and two lambs, can you call that a flock? Ok, so I treat humans as sheep, yes I do, but only when there are no sheep around, so there got that out in the open. Stop here, let me explain! Well, the reason is that I will herd humans out of harm’s way when and if an undesirable area presents itself. I am calm and very friendly with small dogs, cats and my human family!

As I explained, I am very able to work without human supervision... My next project is a space age rocket! Just kidding! Actually my job is very demanding as I have to eat, rest, eat, rest...every day; believe me this is not easily accomplished as the calories are a stressful thought J

I have strong looks, a large well built physique. My body is longish, my head is all rounded largish and proportional to my body, and my size is above average for a dog (remember I am a very unique mountain shepherd breed), at the moment I weigh in at 45kg/90lbs. However, males of my kind can reach around 85kg or 170lbs. I have a beautiful iron grey dense smooth coat.
